<p>Es wird in der Lebensmitteltechnik als <a href="Trennmittel" title="Trennmittel">Trennmittel</a> eingesetzt. Bei der Einwirkung starker Säuren kann die in der Verbindung stark an das Eisen gebundene <a href="Cyanwasserstoff" title="Cyanwasserstoff">Blausäure</a> frei werden.
